Communication Support Worker - Uxbridge College
I am currently in my 24th year at Uxbridge College supporting Deaf, SEHM and SEND young people, and I’ve seen many, MANY changes over the years! I’m always proud to tell people I work at HRUC because the feedback I receive is how inclusive and accepting the college is of disabilities. HRUC celebrates a diverse community where “different” is embraced and nurtured. Wellbeing, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Disability Awareness and training are all highly valued and regularly included in College training days.
CPD is also encouraged and supported. Recently, I completed Level 5 Evaluating the Behaviours of Young People with SEND and L3 Mentor and Coaching qualifications. These have been invaluable to my role and have helped me grow and develop my skills to provide our learners with a high standard of student-centred support.
Being part of the HRUC family, working with like-minded passionate colleagues and having the privilege of being part of our learners’ college experience is the reason I have stayed for so many years. My job is still so rewarding and there’s never a dull day. Many of my colleagues have now become lifelong friends.
If you’re thinking of applying for a post at any of our campuses, I encourage you to do it! We can’t wait to welcome you to the HRUC family.
